If you find yourself constantly cleaning without seeing much progress or spending your entire Sunday tidying up only for things to get messy again the next day, your girl has been there.

Although it may seem like a never-ending chore, maintaining a clean and organized environment offers numerous benefits. Our home serves as the cornerstone of our daily lives. It's crucial to prioritize making it a space where we feel happy and comfortable.

Here are 5 tips to help keep your home sparkling clean to prevent you from losing your marbles:

I. Make your bed:

Even though it sounds simple, wrestling with the bed-making routine every morning is a real battle for many. Surprisingly, studies back up this tiny task's big impact on kickstarting a domino effect of productive habits. It does not have to be perfect- but do it! I have found not having 25 decorative pillows and just keeping my bedding simple helps. It is less stuff to play music chairs with daily.

II. Vacuum:

Turn on some music and pull a Mrs. Doubtfire. Especially all of my dog moms out there- it becomes tumbleweed city within seconds.

Even though you may not see dirt or debris to vacuum, it's there, I promise. Dust is a stage five clinger.

III. Clean kitchen sink and counter:

I know the last thing you want to do after cooking an entire dinner is clean the dishes but this is truly a game changer. There is nothing worse than waking up and going downstairs in the morning to make coffee and there is a sink full of dirty dishes and your kitchen smells like booty. What helps me is I tell myself the tomorrow morning version of myself deserves a fresh and clean kitchen to start the day. Pre-wash the dishes and put them in the dishwasher: Yes, please rinse them before putting them in the dishwasher. The broccoli debris does not need to be at the bottom of your dishwasher. And I do not care how great your detergent is, food debris will linger down there for a long time.

Place items that need to go upstairs on the steps: I grab the items I have sitting on the steps on my way up and then put them away. I do the same thing when going downstairs- I look around and ask myself what I can take down with me. Make this a habit and you would automatically do it. This helps with the clutter and ensuring things are in their right places.

V. Do one load of laundry a day:

And yes, this includes folding and putting away. If you do not have any clothes in your hamper I am proud of you but... move to throw blankets and pillows (there is always more to be washed, trust me) and if you disagree with me here are some additional items: kitchen towels, bathroom hand towels, rugs, dog beds, curtains, mattress protector, sheets, crusty coats you have not washed in weeks...
